TU IOE Entrance Exam Notice 2082 for BE/B.Arch Programs

Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering (IOE), Entrance Examination Board announces the entrance examination for undergraduate programs (BE/B.Arch) for the academic year 2082/083.

The computer-based test will be held from Bhadra 3, 2082, at ICTC Pulchowk, Western Regional Campus Pokhara, and Eastern Regional Campus Dharan as per assigned locations, shifts, and schedules.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

1.1. Candidates must have passed Grade 11 and 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from TU or a recognized institution, securing at least 45% aggregate marks or a minimum C grade in each subject under letter grading (for NEB). Candidates awaiting results or in the sixth semester of an engineering diploma may also apply.

1.2. Foreign nationals may only apply under the full-fee category. One-twelfth of the full-fee seats at constituent campuses are reserved for foreign nationals.

Application Process and Required Documents

2.1. Applicants must fill out and submit the online application form through https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

2.2. The form will be available from 2082/04/13 at 10:00 AM to 2082/04/27 at 5:00 PM.

2.3. Forms can be filled out from any internet-accessible location during the stated period.

2.4. The entrance exam fee is NPR 2,000. Payment methods include:

  • Siddhartha Bank branch deposit using a voucher for the IOE entrance

  • Siddhartha BankSmart service (no extra fee)

  • Connect IPS, eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay (service charge applicable)

2.5. While submitting the online form, candidates must fill in the following details:

  • Personal information, including full name, parents' names, date of birth, permanent address,and  academic history

  • Upload a recent color digital photo (350 × 300 pixels, clear full forehead, plain background)

  • Upload a scanned copy of one valid ID (e.g., citizenship, national ID, driving license, passport, or admit card of final year/semester exam)

  • Choose exam date, center, and shift early, as seat availability is limited and cannot be changed later.

2.6. After submission, print the Acknowledgement Page and verify your exam details. Contact the board by 2082/04/30 at 1:00 PM if discrepancies exist.

2.7. Admit cards will be issued online from 2082/05/01 onward, based on the exam schedule. Candidates must print in color and bring it to the exam.

2.8. Also, bring the original ID used during application (as per point 2.5) to the exam center.

Exam and Admission Information

3.1. The entrance exam will be computer-based for 2 hours. It will include 100 objective questions from English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The syllabus is available at https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

3.2. Negative marking: 10% deduction per incorrect answer.

3.4. Candidates applying under quota/reserved categories (female, teacher/staff, inclusive, government, foreign nationals) must prepare the required documents before the admission schedule.

Note

Candidates who pass the IOE entrance exam for 2082/083 may be eligible for engineering scholarships under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology if they meet all legal requirements per the scholarship regulations.
