PCL Nursing Programme

Gurbhakot Polytechnic Institute offers PCL Nursing, also referred to as the Staff Nurse programme. The course runs for three academic years.

The CTEVT PCL Nursing curriculum follows a yearly system. One academic year consists of up to 40 weeks, and one academic week consists of up to 40 hours, excluding the evaluation period. The medium of instruction is English and/or Nepali.

The programme includes theory classes, practical learning, clinical practice, and community health learning. The first year covers foundational nursing care in hospital and community settings. The second year covers preventive, promotive, and therapeutic nursing care for adults, elderly persons, and people with mental health needs. The third year includes pediatric, midwifery, gynecology, leadership, and management areas.

Admission Flow for PCL Nursing

Admission is based on academic eligibility, the CTEVT entrance examination, and merit selection. At Gurbhakot Polytechnic Institute, admission also includes CTEVT-prescribed quotas and Karnali Province district-based quotas.

The examination system includes internal assessment and final examination. Students must pass all subjects in both theory and practical components for certification. The required pass marks are 40% in theory and 50% in practical.
