Bachelor of Science in Forestry

The B.Sc. Forestry program runs for four years across eight semesters. It combines scientific foundations, general forestry subjects, field-based study, professional courses, seminars, and research.

Student Intake and Seat Allocation

Eligibility and Admission

Applicants must have completed one of the following academic routes:

  • I.Sc.

  • 10+2 with biology or mathematics

  • Certificate in Forestry

The previous qualification must be from a recognized institution, with at least 50 percent marks in aggregate.

Admission is based on an entrance examination conducted by Purbanchal University. Applicants are selected according to their merit scores in the entrance process.

Attendance Requirement

Students must attend at least 80 percent of the theory and practical classes in each subject. Students who do not meet the required attendance are not eligible to appear in the final examination for that subject.

B.Sc. Forestry Curriculum Structure

The curriculum moves from basic sciences and social foundations to general forestry, applied subjects, field study, and research.

Students study Scientific Writing and Communication Skill, Urban Forestry, Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis, Non-Timber Forest Products II, Ecosystem Services and Payment, GIS in Natural Resource Management, Bioenergy, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Soil Survey, Mapping and Degraded Land Management, International Forestry Practices and Organizational Study, and Natural Resource Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.

The program concludes with seminar work and a six-credit project paper.

Master’s in Environmental Administration and Management

The master’s program runs for two years and addresses the administrative, policy, and management dimensions of environmental work. It brings environmental knowledge together with planning, governance, sustainable development, and natural resource administration.
