Institutional Background
Rara Multiple Campus was established through the efforts of local residents, education advocates and community stakeholders in Mugu. The former District Development Committee, Village Development Committees, municipal bodies, social workers, intellectuals and representatives of NGOs and INGOs contributed to its development.
The campus was formed in response to the limited availability of higher education in the district. Before its establishment, students from Mugu and nearby areas faced geographical and financial barriers when pursuing university-level study outside the region. By providing courses in Gamgadhi, the campus created a local route into bachelor’s and master’s education.
Over the years, Rara Multiple Campus has produced hundreds of alumni who have worked in different areas of education, public service and community development. Its academic activities are supported by teaching and non-teaching staff, local stakeholders and students.
