The curriculum begins with Computer System Concepts, Mathematics, Technical English, Computer Programming in C, Digital Logic, and Computer Project-I. The following semesters introduce Object-Oriented Programming in C++, Microprocessor and Assembly Language, Modern Business Practices, Sociology, Ethics and Emotional Intelligence, and further project work.
During the second year, students study Financial Accounting, Computer Architecture, Data Structure and Algorithm, System Analysis and Design, User Interface Design, Numerical Methods, Operating System, Computer Network, Database Management System, and Technology and Operations Management.
Later coursework includes Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Web Technology, Computer Graphics, Probability and Statistics, and Research Methodology. Software Engineering covers development processes, requirements, design, testing, project management, quality assurance, and related software practices.
Computer project work begins in the first semester and continues through the program. Students apply concepts from their courses while working on planning, research, teamwork, implementation, assessment, report preparation, and presentation.
Project groups may include up to three students working under an adviser. Laboratory components also support subjects such as programming, databases, operating systems, computer networks, web technology, and computer graphics.
Applicants must have completed twelve years of schooling in any stream. They must meet one of the following academic requirements:
Minimum D+ grade in each subject of Grades 11 and 12 with a CGPA of 2.0 or above
Second division with at least 45 percent in 10+2, PCL, or an equivalent qualification in any discipline
Applicants are also required to pass the entrance examination conducted by Purbanchal University. Students presenting foreign academic certificates must submit the required equivalence and grading or percentage documents from the concerned authority.
Pure theory courses are assessed through 20 percent internal evaluation and 80 percent final examination. Courses combining theory and laboratory work carry 20 percent internal marks, 20 percent practical marks, and 60 percent final examination marks.
Pure laboratory or practical courses are evaluated through 60 percent continuous internal assessment and 40 percent final viva. Students must maintain at least 80 percent attendance in lectures, tests, and tutorial classes to qualify for the final examination.
