Curriculum Details

TU’s BBS has a staged plan across four academic years. You build foundations first, move into core areas, and complete a concentration with a project in year four.

Year 1 (Foundations): Business English, Business Statistics, Microeconomics, Accounting for Financial Analysis, Principles of Management.

Year 2 (Core Building): Business Communication, Macroeconomics, Cost & Management Accounting, Fundamentals of Marketing, Foundations of Human Resource Management.

Year 3 (Integration): Business Law, Fundamentals of Financial Management, Business Environment & Strategy, Taxation & Auditing, Organizational Behavior.

Year 4 (Specialization & Project): Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development, Business Research Methods (with a Final Project), plus three courses from one concentration stream (Accounting/Finance/Marketing/Management).

Objectives

The BBS aims to produce graduates ready for roles in business, industry, and public organizations. You develop a general management perspective, practical problem-solving, and an understanding of how Nepali organizations operate.

Scope

Graduates enter entry-level roles in accounting, banking, insurance, trading companies, NGOs, and local enterprises. Many continue to MBS or MBA at TU or other universities after meeting their respective entry rules. (MBS at TU requires CMAT per FoM notices.)

• Academic eligibility (TU FoM): completion of 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board (second division/≥45% or CGPA ≥1.8). TU’s curriculum also allows applicants who completed 10+2 in business/commerce or who studied Mathematics or Economics as a full paper at 10+2.

• Entrance policy: CMAT is not required for TU’s BBS in most colleges; some campuses may conduct their own interview/merit process. One institutional policy explicitly states “To study BBS, the entrance test CMAT is not mandatory.” TU’s CMAT notices list semester-based programs (e.g., BBA, BIM, BBM, BHM, BTTM, BPA), not BBS. Check GCMC’s notice for any local steps (form, interview, deadlines).

• Attendance & exam rule: at least 70% class attendance to qualify for the annual exams.
