Overview

Gatishil Community Multiple Campus (GCMC - Gatishil Samudayik Bahumukhi Campus, Tokha-7, Dhapasi, Kathmandu) was established in 2060 B.S. under the affiliation of Tribhuvan University. It began as Manohar Shahid Smarak Multiple Campus in the Manohara residential area. After a few years of operation, the campus closed for a period, during which Paramount Academy temporarily ran its programs.

As Tribhuvan University regulations do not permit private institutions to operate community campuses, the college was later revived with a new name and location as Gatishil Community Multiple Campus.

Support and Faculty

To ensure classes could resume smoothly, Tilingatar Secondary School provided a building free of cost in the early phase.

Faculty members at GCMC include lecturers from Shanker Dev Campus, GoldenGate International College, and Lincoln College.

Academic Program and Schedule

GCMC is the first community campus in Tokha Municipality affiliated with Tribhuvan University. The campus currently offers the Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) program.

Classes run in the morning, which helps students manage work or other responsibilities during the day.

Location and Facilities

The campus is located in Dhapasi, Tokha-7, Kathmandu, within the premises of Tilingatar Secondary School near Dahal Gaunda Chowk. It has a separate four-storey building dedicated to academic activities.

Purpose

The campus was set up to make bachelor-level education accessible and affordable for local students. While eight community schools in Tokha offer education up to Class 12, many students previously moved to private colleges for undergraduate study. GCMC provides a nearby, lower-cost option.

It serves students from Tokha as well as surrounding districts such as Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. The morning schedule enables students to study and work on the same day.

Governance and Future Plans

GCMC is operated by the Tokha Municipality. The campus plans to expand academic offerings in the coming years, with proposed programs including:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

  • Other disciplines aligned with student interests and local needs
