Art Workshop on 18th Library Day in Kathmandu
On the occasion of the 18th Library Day, an art workshop on the theme ‘Our Library: Our Future’ was held today. The program was jointly organized by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
Inaugurating the workshop, Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Raghuji Pant, said that painting and libraries are complementary to each other. He urged artists to cultivate a reading habit, stating that it would help their art to emerge more clearly and strongly. Minister Pant highlighted that art, creativity, and books capture Nepal’s culture, traditions, civilization, and contemporary issues.
Member Secretary of the Academy, Devendrakumar Kafle Thumkeli, stated that libraries play a crucial role in developing awareness and therefore must be accessible to all. He further mentioned that the Academy will continue organizing such programs in the future.
