Government Will Act Firmly on Good Governance: Minister Kharel

Addressing the gathering, Minister Kharel said the government would move ahead firmly to promote good governance and control corruption.

He remarked that the present administration, which emerged from the Gen Z Movement, has a clear public mandate to uphold integrity, ensure accountability, and conduct timely elections.

“The voice of the Gen Z Movement was against corruption and in favor of transparent governance. Our government stands by that commitment. Good governance is not just a slogan—it’s our priority,” Minister Kharel said.

“I’ll Work Honestly and Return the Same Way”

Minister Kharel noted that he had taken on the ministerial role under exceptional circumstances but would perform his duties sincerely and responsibly.

“I may or may not be able to accomplish everything, but I assure you—I won’t do anything that tarnishes public trust. I came with good intentions and will leave the same way. I will do my best, not to spoil or be spoiled,” he said.

He also pointed out the need to rebuild national institutions damaged during the Gen Z Movement, such as Singha Durbar, the Office of the President, the Parliament Building, and the Supreme Court.

Call for Justice to Victims of the Gen Z Movement

Minister Kharel expressed grief over the loss of lives during the movement, saying that many families are still mourning and several injured are under treatment.

He assured that the government would ensure justice by investigating the incidents thoroughly and bring those responsible for the destruction of lives and property under the legal process.
