JCI Nepal to Host SAAIL 2025 in Kathmandu

JCI Nepal to Organize Historic SAAIL 2025 in Kathmandu

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nepal is set to host a historic international event, the South-Asian Academy for International Leadership (SAAIL Nepal 2025), for the first time. Under the theme “Bridging Nations – Building Leadership,” the program will take place from July 31 to August 3, 2025, at Aloft Hotel, Thamel, Kathmandu, with final preparations in progress, according to JCI Nepal.

A Platform for South Asian Youth Leaders

As per JCI Nepal, the academy aims to unite young leaders from South Asia with a strong focus on:

  • Leadership development

  • Intercultural understanding

  • Regional collaboration

  • Shared future building

The initiative is led by Ranjani Thapa, the Dynamic National President of Nepal Jaycees for 2025. The official release states that this is a milestone achievement resulting from President Thapa’s vision and strategic leadership.

The event will be directed by Past National President and JCI Senator Pragya Raj Rajbhandari, further reinforcing the program’s significance in the region’s youth leadership movement. JCI Nepal believes SAAIL Nepal 2025 will mark a historic milestone in South Asian leadership development.

Origin of the SAAIL Initiative

JCI Nepal confirmed that the concept of SAAIL was born during the 2025 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference (ASPAC) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

At that event, representatives from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), jointly committing to the establishment of SAAIL. Nepal is now honored to become the first host nation of this collaborative initiative.

According to the plan, the academy will be held in a different South Asian country each year in the future.

Core Objectives of SAAIL Nepal 2025

JCI Nepal outlined the main goals of SAAIL Nepal 2025 as follows:

  • Multidimensional development of youth leadership capacity

  • Promotion of mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation among South Asian nations

  • Global promotion of Nepal's culture, tourism, and identity

  • Exploration of opportunities in enterprise, investment, and innovation through international youth participation

  • Establishment of long-term networks and regional partnerships

These features position the event as a strategic initiative for empowering youth leaders and strengthening regional unity through collaboration.
