Sahitya Sangam Makwanpur Honors Two Writers
On the occasion of Sahitya Sangam Makwanpur’s 360th regular literary evening, two creators were honored. The Dambar Purnamaya Memorial honor was conferred at a program held on Saturday in Hetauda.
Honorees and Years
The recognition went to poet, lyricist, and fiction writer Bhupin, and to poet and critic Dr. Bindu Sharma. The “Dambar Purnamaya Memorial Poetry Honor” was awarded for the year 2080 to Bhupin of Baglung and for 2081 to Dr. Sharma of Kathmandu.
Cash Prize and Presentation
Each honoree received NPR 22,222. The honors were presented by literary figure Dr. Nimesh Nikhil.
Program Chair and Activities
The program was chaired by DB Bartaula, Chair of Sahitya Sangam. The event also featured the launch and discussion of “Kathmandu Paradise,” a travelogue collection by Rajaram Bartaula, a resident of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–11. In addition, poems by poet Jenan Nepal, the founder of the honor, were recited.
