World Children’s Day Panche Baja Contest in Syangja
On the occasion of World Children’s Day, a Panche Baja competition was held in Syangja among groups of children.
In the competition, children from Janata Secondary School of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Syangja, secured first place.
Janahit Secondary School of Andhikhola Rural Municipality stood second, the Lamage Panche Baja group based in Putalibazar Municipality came third, and Saraswoti Secondary School, Nagdanda, also of Putalibazar, received the consolation position.
In the competition organized by the Integrated Service Office Syangja, children participated from the different local levels.
According to the head of the Integrated Service Office, Jivan Poudel, the first, second, third and consolation winners in the competition were provided 15,000, 10,000, 7,000 and 4,000 respectively, along with certificates.
He stated that the program was organized with the objective of further amplifying children’s voices, including on child rights, through singing and Panche Baja music, and of helping to bring out the inherent talents present in children.
In the program, Gandaki Province Assembly member and coordinator of the Public Accounts Committee, Sudhir Poudel, said that it is necessary to teach skills to children for the preservation of art and culture and for their transfer from one generation to the next.
In the competition, the first, second, third and consolation winners were provided 15,000, 10,000, 7,000 and 4,000 respectively along with certificates.
