Public Service Commission, Kathmandu Office Announces Written Examination for Various Technical Posts

The Public Service Commission in Kathmandu has released a Written Examination Notification to inform candidates about the upcoming exams. The exams are for the posts of Radio Technician, Instrument Mechanics, and Assistant Chemist under the Non-Gazetted First Class (Technical) category. Here is everything you need to know to prepare for these critical exams.

Examination Schedule and Format

Key Dates and Timing

  • General Awareness & General Aptitude Test: 2080/05/25 at 7:00 AM (45 minutes)
  • Job-Based Knowledge Test: 2080/05/25 at 8:15 AM (2 hours and 15 minutes)
  • Subjective Test: 2080/05/26 at 7:00 AM (45 minutes) and 8:15 AM (2 hours and 15 minutes)

Examination Type

  • General Awareness & General Aptitude: Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Job-Based Knowledge: Letter/Subjective format

Important Guidelines for Candidates

  • Admit Cards: Essential for entry. Arrive at least one hour before the examination starts.
  • Writing Instrument: Use only black ink. No lead pencils allowed in objective answer books.
  • Answer Format: For MCQs, answers must be in capital letters A, B, C, D.
  • Prohibited Items: Bags, mobile phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices. Calculators are not allowed in objective tests.
  • Identity Proof: Along with the admit card, bring citizenship or an identity card issued by the Nepal Government.

Special Provisions

  1. Candidates must bring their own masks, sanitizers, and drinking water.

Requests for an Assistant Writer

Candidates requiring an assistant writer must submit an application 10 days prior to the exam. The application should follow Rule 68 (1) of the Public Service Commission Regulations, 2079 and include valid reasons and evidence for the request.

Final Notes

  1. The examination will not be postponed unless otherwise notified by the commission.
  2. No candidate will be admitted to examination buildings other than the one specified.
