Exam Postponed Following Interim Order from the Supreme Court
Sudurpashchim Province Public Service Commission has postponed the scheduled examination for the ninth-level officer positions in the Provincial Civil Service.
The decision follows a short-term interim order issued by the Supreme Court of Nepal, which instructed the Commission to halt the exam proceedings temporarily.
Background of the Advertisement and Post Allocation
The Commission had published a notice on Falgun 20 to recruit candidates for ninth-level officer positions in both technical and non-technical categories. These included vacancies to be filled through promotion based on seniority and performance evaluation, as well as promotion based on work efficiency evaluation.

Legal Challenge and Court Order
Employees from the Agriculture Group and Forest Service Group filed a petition with the Supreme Court, stating that they were not allowed to participate in the internal competition within their own group.
After reviewing the petition, the Supreme Court issued a short-term interim order on Baisakh 22, instructing the Commission not to proceed with the examination.
Commission’s Official Statement
Following receipt of the court’s directive, all examination activities mentioned in the previous notice have been postponed with immediate effect, according to Branch Officer Mina Joshi from the Commission.
The Commission has confirmed that no further action will be taken regarding the scheduled exams until another order is issued by the Supreme Court.
