Overview

National Innovation Center (Rastriya Avishkar Kendra,) Nepal was established on 9th November 2012 as a nonprofit sharing organization which is located at Inside Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. NAC is dedicated to developing the culture of research, technology, and innovation in Nepal.

NIC has been set up at the Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur, Kathmandu on Friday under the leadership of young scientist and social engineer Dr. Mahabir Pun.

The National Innovation Center (NIC) Nepal provides a unique platform to help retain and foster innovative, talented, and passionate human capital of Nepal and leverage their intellect and creativity in strengthening the country’s social and economic growth through inspired intellect and persistent effort.

NIC believes that every opportunity with great ideas for innovation should get a chance to be heard, supported, encouraged, and empowered. Through this initiative, It is committed to creating dynamic opportunities to help Nepal become a prosperous nation and to preserve talented Nepali individuals from leaving Nepal for better opportunities abroad.

Mission: To seek creative minds from all over the nation and provide them a platform to take their new methods, ideas, or products out to the marketplace/life for nation development.

Values: Provide a platform for Innovation with Transparency, Honesty, and Integrity

The center has been set up to help young people with new ideas to become entrepreneurs and to do business by producing goods in any field that will contribute to the economic development of the country. At present, 20 projects have come into operation at the center. New research work has been started in the fields of drones, biomedical, agriculture, education, health, and others.

The center is currently working for poultry and fish farming in Chitwan. Similarly, work has been started in the fields of tourism and agriculture in Pokhara, Biratnagar, and other cities.
