Campus Chiefs Locked in Office by Mahendra Campus Student Union
At Mahendra Multiple Campus, Nepalgunj, the campus chief along with three other senior officials were locked inside the office. The action was carried out by the Free Student Union of Mahendra Multiple Campus.
Reason for the Lock-in
According to the Student Union President, Keshar Jung Shahi, the step was taken because their demands had not been addressed. He stated that Campus Chief Lalmanni Acharya, Assistant Campus Chiefs Subash Gautam and Bhuvaneshwar Lamichhane, and BCA Program Director Koshraj Regmi were locked inside the office.
Unaddressed Demands
The Student Union had earlier submitted a 51-point demand to the campus administration. However, due to the administration’s inaction, the Student Union locked the officials inside the office as a form of protest.
Time and Details of the Incident
President Shahi informed that on Wednesday, at around 3:30 in the afternoon, the officials were locked from outside the door.
He added, “We had submitted the 51-point demand list about a month ago to the campus administration, but as the administration failed to address the demands, the Student Union has locked the campus chief’s office.”
