
HPF Constructs 65 School Buildings in Taplejung
Human Practice Foundation (HPF) has constructed 65 school buildings in Taplejung. Working in the education sector, HPF has built permanent buildings for various schools across the district.
HPF's Long-Term Presence and Current Status
HPF has been active in Taplejung for the past eight years. According to District Program Director Amit Shrestha, 64 out of the 65 buildings have already been completed and are in operation.
One building at Param Singh Devi Secondary School in Nighuradin, Aathrai Tribeni Rural Municipality, is still under construction. This ongoing construction is reported to be approximately 70% complete.

Additional Infrastructure and Educational Improvements
According to HPF, in addition to building school infrastructure, programs are being run in 58 schools across the district. These include:

Construction of toilets in 51 schools

Drinking water systems (intake, reserve tank, and taps) in 9 schools

Setup of computer labs, science labs, libraries, and early childhood classrooms

Subject-based training on integrated curriculum, child protection policies, and IT for teachers, students, and parents
Programs for Economic Empowerment
HPF is also implementing programs focused on livelihood skills and small-scale entrepreneurship in 39 schools, including:

Training and support for 266 entrepreneurs involved in goat rearing, pig and poultry farming, and vegetable farming
IT Academy Establishment in Phungling
To enhance digital education, HPF has established an IT Academy in Phungling.
Future Program Direction
As per Director Shrestha, in Taplejung, HPF will now continue only the economic empowerment and micro-entrepreneurship programs. Infrastructure development and other educational programs will now focus on the Panchthar, Tehrathum, and Dhankuta districts.
