An additional gas sales Depo (outlet) has been operating in the capital since Sunday. The Nepal Oil Corporation, in collaboration with the LP Gas Industries Association, aims to set up additional sales centers to provide relief to the lower and middle class. The 22 gas industries will deliver gas from 10 am to 5 pm.
According to the corporation's executive director, Surendra Poudel, the upper-middle class and upper class living in the valley along with the coronavirus have accumulated a large amount of cooking gas. Due to this, the lower class and the middle class are forced to spend time getting cylinders.
'We are supplying gas twice the demand. Cylinders from the industry are going to market in the same volume. But the lower classes could not easily get the cylinders, 'Poudel said.
Former depots, dealers and sales centers will also be restored. From such outlets, consumers will be able to get filled cylinders immediately by replacing empty cylinders. However, it has been arranged for one consumer to get only one cylinder. The corporation has fixed a price of Rs 1,375 per cylinder.
"We have arranged for a consumer not to have more than one cylinder from the outlet," said Poudel.
