Minister Proposes Full Scholarship with Hostel and Uniform
Education, Science, and Technology Minister Raghuj Pant has proposed including the provision of full scholarships by private schools in the regulations.
During Monday’s meeting of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives, Minister Pant suggested that private schools should also provide hostel and uniform facilities under full scholarships.
On Sunday, the Coordination and Consultation Subcommittee held a meeting to discuss the disputed issue, but no agreement could be reached.

Private schools argued that it is not possible to provide a hostel and uniforms under full scholarships.

Committee members, however, insisted that full scholarships must also cover hostel and uniforms.
In the meeting held on 22nd Shrawan 2082, a proposal was presented to exclude hostel and uniform from the scholarship provision. But the proposal was not passed as members rejected the idea.
Due to this issue, private school operators have been launching a series of protests in phases.
The Teacher’s Federation has also expressed dissatisfaction with the bill. The federation has announced that it will begin protest programs starting from the second week of Bhadra.
