NAST Calls Proposals for Research and Innovation Programs
Kathmandu — The Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has called on young scientists and technologists interested in result-oriented research and the development of cutting-edge technologies in the fields of science and technology to submit research proposals.
In a notice published on 11 Baisakh 2083, the Academy’s central office in Khumaltar, Lalitpur invited proposals for two separate programs.
According to the notice, the Academy will provide research grants under the Young Scientist Research Support Program and the Innovation Program.
Young Scientist Research Support Program
Under this program, proposals may be submitted for individual as well as group research.
Only young scientists or technologists who have not exceeded 40 years of age by the final application deadline will be eligible to apply.
Among the proposals received, the best two proposals will be selected, and each will receive research support of up to Rs. 500,000, according to the Academy.
Innovation Program
Under the Innovation Program, only one proposal will be selected as the best among all submissions received.
The selected applicant will receive research support of up to Rs. 1,000,000, the notice states.
Submission Deadline and Process
Interested researchers must submit the proposal for the research they intend to conduct to NAST’s central office in Khumaltar during office hours within 35 days from the date of publication of this notice.
The Academy has made it clear that proposals not submitted in the proper format or those received after the prescribed deadline will not be considered for any action.
