Nepal Police Gives 7-Day Ultimatum to 6 Personnel to Report for Duty
The Nepal Police, under the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, through Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal (Law and Human Rights Division), has issued a notice directing six police personnel who have remained absent without authorization to report within seven days.
According to the notice published on 2083/01/10, the concerned personnel, who have been absent from duty for a long time, have been given an ultimatum to come into contact with the office along with a satisfactory explanation for their absence.
The office stated that despite search efforts and completion of the procedure under Rule 115, Sub-rule (2) of the Police Regulations, 2071 (as amended), including the posting of notice, they have still not come into contact with the office.
The notice directs them to report to the concerned office or the office issuing the notice within seven days from the date of publication of the notice, excluding travel time, with a satisfactory reason and clarification for remaining absent.
It has also warned that if they fail to come into contact within the prescribed period, action will be taken to remove them from service under Rule 109, Clause (b)(1), for the offense under Rule 113, Sub-rule (1), Clause (cha) of the Police Regulations, 2071.
The headquarters has further informed that this collective notice shall also be treated as the opportunity to submit a defense as provided under the Police Regulations.
