NEB Class 12 Exams will be Decided Soon:

Preparations are underway to open the exit of the postponed class 12 examination soon. Millions of students are confused due to the lack of postponed exams and this will affect all the undergraduate classes of all the universities in Nepal, so the class 12 exams will be decided soon. Finding a way out of this subject will open the way for students to study at the Bachelor level.

Chairman of the National Examination Board (NEB), Pro. Dr. Chandra Mani Poudel informed that continuous dialogue is being held with the government on conducting and certifying the examinations of class 12 students.

Discussions have been started on various options for conducting the examination of class 12 students and publishing the results. Some time ago, it was planned to complete the examination of the students in the old way and publish the results before Dashain. But now that possibility has been ruled out. Now, as an alternative, discussions are underway to give the school the final right to evaluate students, just like in class 11. He informed that they are engaged in discussions on how to open the exam option as there is a provision that students have to take the exam in class 12. For this, discussions have been started on taking the exam, again and again, completing the examination process using online or other means and a decision will be taken soon.

As the board does not have the right to take such policy decisions at present, the board has demanded to give the right to the government. Poudel informed that they are thinking of paving the way by publishing and verifying the results of class 12 students in case they can work independently.

Failure to conduct the Class 12 examination on time and publish the results will affect the Bachelor programs of all the universities in Nepal. Harisinh KC, vice-principal of Southwestern College, said that all the undergraduate programs in medicine, engineering, agriculture, forestry, and management would be affected and the academic session of the students would be affected. He said that since the right to do so is vested in the teacher and verification is done on the basis of that, it would be a suitable option to hand over the school once for class 12 even in special circumstances. He suggests thinking.

Saroj Acharya, principal of Adarsh Saul Secondary School in Lalitpur, said that the students should take exams to maintain the quality as much as possible. He said that the teacher should be given the responsibility to evaluate when alternatives are sought. It is said that the possibility of taking the exam in the physical presence of class 12 students has been delayed for a few months and the possibility of taking the exam through online mediums is also low. A joint secretary and spokesperson of the Ministry of Education said that although there was a plan to complete the examination by the Dashai, now that possibility has been ruled out.

Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Prof. Dr. Bhim Prasad Subedi, said that it was necessary to think in such a way that the academic session of the students would not be disrupted. He suggested a quick decision. He said that it would affect the educational programs of the university as well, so it is necessary to think about the option of examination. He said that the decision on class 12 should not be delayed to make way for students to study through technology by making good use of their energetic time. He suggested that the option of examination should be made easier for this.
