On-Time Distribution of School Level Textbooks by Janak Education Material Center

Janak Education Material Center (Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra) has initiated the distribution of school level textbooks for the new academic session that is set to begin from 2080 Baisakh 2 (April 15, 2023).

Distribution Process and Aims

The center has commenced the distribution of books from all eight Kshatriya offices, including Sanothimi in Bhaktapur, with the objective of ensuring that students receive their textbooks along with admission.

The office has reported that textbooks will be sold in Himalayan districts in the first phase, followed by hilly and remote districts in the second phase, and finally accessible districts in the last phase.

The center plans to transport and sell textbooks through 1,267 sellers in all seven provincial offices, with a target of delivering the textbooks to all schools across the country by April 18, 2023.

Printing and Distribution Details

Janak Education Material Center has been given the responsibility of printing and selling textbooks for classes 6 to 10, for which 15 million textbooks need to be printed. The center has already completed the printing of 14 million textbooks, with the remaining 1 million textbooks to be printed by the end of March.

The responsibility of printing books for classes 1 to 5 has been assigned to private printing companies, with a target of printing 12 million textbooks.

According to Deepak Sharma, joint secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, this year, students will receive their textbooks at the time of admission without any exception. The government has ensured that students will not have to face any shortage of books, and they will receive books as soon as they enroll in the next academic session.

Monitoring and Government's efforts

The government is closely monitoring the book printing process to prevent any delay in book distribution, which has been a critical issue in previous years.

Jha, the managing director of the center, stated that despite the press running 24 hours a day, the work is being done according to the target of delivering textbooks on time, and all textbooks will be printed in a week.

Overall, Janak Education Material Center has taken a significant initiative to ensure that students receive their textbooks on time along with admission. The government is also taking steps to monitor and address the issue of book printing and distribution. With all these efforts, students can look forward to receiving their textbooks without any delay and commence their academic journey smoothly.
