Physical Infrastructure and Labs is Being Established in 108 Schools in Baglung

In the current financial year in Baglung, physical infrastructure is being constructed and schools are being established in one hundred and eight schools. A program agreement has been called for at the local level to build four-room and two-room buildings.

Under the Presidential Educational Reform Program brought by the Government of Nepal for the improvement of the physical and technological aspects of education, 118 schools in Baglung will be implemented in the current financial year, and 143 schools will be implemented through the agreement of the local municipality along with the establishment of physical infrastructure and ICT labs in 35 schools.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has issued a circular to contract the implementation with the local level from the 28th of November for publicizing the list of schools for budget allocation in August. The budget has been allocated at the end of last August.

According to the Education and Natural Resources Development Center under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the budget has been allocated for four classrooms in 46 schools, two classrooms in 62 schools and ICT labs in 35 schools.

The education development and coordination unit has informed that last year the budget of 3.6 million for a four-room building and 1.8 million for a two-room building was not enough to build an earthquake-resistant building.

Twenty schools within Nisikhola Rural Municipality and seven schools within Thora Bareng Rural Municipality have been selected. Among the 143 schools in the 10 municipalities of the district, there are 16 schools in Galkot Municipality, 16 in Baglung Municipality, 12 in Kathekhola Rural Municipality, 12 in Jaimini Municipality, seven in Bareng Rural Municipality, 19 in Dhorpatan Municipality, 20 in Nisikhola Rural Municipality, 12 in Tarakhola Rural Municipality, 11 in Tamankhola Rural Municipality and 18 in Badigad Rural Municipality.
