Subject Proposals Invited for Postage Stamp Publication
Kathmandu— The Department of Postal Services, under the Ministry of Information and Communications, Government of Nepal, has invited proposals on suitable subjects for publishing postage stamps to prepare the Philatelic Program for 2027. Through a public notice published on 2083 Jestha 13 (May 27, 2026), the department requested interested individuals, associations, institutions, and all concerned to submit proposals.
The department stated that proposals have been invited for preparing the Philatelic Program 2027 in accordance with Section 4.1 of the Postage Stamp Directives, 2071.
While submitting proposals, applicants must submit an application along with a suitable photograph of the related subject, a brief description in Nepali and English, and, as far as possible, a design of the stamp. The department will collect the proposals received and proceed with the necessary process as per the directives.
The subjects that may be selected for proposals are as follows.

Different festivals and cultures practiced in various parts of Nepal.

Ancient and modern art, religion, and literature.

Artistic buildings, monuments, and religious sites.

Objects of geographical and archaeological importance.

Distinguished scholars, national luminaries, and talents renowned at the national and international levels.

Important historical events and persons.

Natural heritage and subjects of dignified national importance.

International organizations, meetings, conferences, ceremonies, and similar matters related to Nepal.

Foreign affairs and international relations related to Nepal’s bilateral and multilateral relations.

International years observed at the call of organizations including the United Nations, Universal Postal Union (UPU), and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Sports activities of national and international importance.

Any other important subject matter.
Proposals must be submitted to the Department of Postal Services, Babarmahal, Kathmandu, within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.
