SEE students Can Consult with Teachers from Home:

After the postponement of the Secondary Education Exam (SEE) due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection spread worldwide; Students will now be able to ask questions related to the teacher from home. In order to facilitate the preparation of the student's examination and to provide some relief to the parents, the initiative of the teacher's umbrella organization Nepal Teachers' Association has been explored to solve the students' questions at home.

Chairman of the Nepal Teachers' Association Baburam Thapa said that such arrangements have been made to facilitate the preparation of the exam as the students of the SEE have been under a lot of stress and even the parents are suffering from it.

Students will now be able to ask the subject matter teacher by telephone if they have not answered any questions in English, Nepali, science, mathematics and social subjects. Chairman of Nepal Teachers' Association Thapa said that the plan was to make the telephone communication of the teacher students in a toll-free number in coordination with the Ministry of Education Science and Technology.

The Association has made a list of seven teachers for this subject. It is said that a list of 35 teachers has been prepared from all provinces to have one teacher in all subjects. Of the teachers on the roster, students can ask any teacher.

He said that the students have been out of touch with the teacher for a long time and even if they were unable to ask for something they did not know, they would have more difficulty in their studies.

There are five mandatory subjects in the SEE. For the three subjects which are optional subjects, this arrangement will not currently be made. Many students choose elective mathematics, accounting, economics, computers and so on, he said, but could not manage it. Meanwhile, the Association has called on teachers from all over the country to cooperate technically closely, even though they are geographically distant with students preparing for the SEE exam.

The government had postponed the SEE exam being prepared to conduct the 6th Chaitra after the country was facing an increased risk of getting the coronavirus infection. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology have urged parents and students to take some patience as the test will begin smoothly as soon as the virus gets infected. About five lakh students are expected to appear in the SEE exams.
