Over 5,000 Students Receive Scholarships in Kohalpur Municipality

A total of 49 institutional schools operating within Kohalpur Municipality have distributed scholarships to more than 5,000 students. These schools are affiliated with N-PABSON, PABSON, and CRISA Banke.

According to the scholarship distribution data made public by Kohalpur Municipality, over 5,000 students received scholarships from the 49 schools.

Mayor Purna Prasad Acharya stated that a total of 5,127 students received scholarships. Beneficiaries include diligent students, conflict-affected children, economically disadvantaged, helpless individuals, women, indigenous communities, Dalits, Madhesi, persons with disabilities, and other backward communities.

He further explained that in the current fiscal year 2082–2083, more than 18% of newly enrolled students from nursery to grade 10 received scholarships.

Mayor Acharya expressed gratitude to CRISA, PABSON, N-PABSON, and all institutional schools for their cooperation in conducting the educational campaign as per the regulations and fulfilling their social responsibilities.

Total Enrolment and Beneficiary Statistics

Out of 26,047 students currently enrolled in institutional schools within Kohalpur, 5,127 have received scholarships. Distribution is as follows:

  • Diligent students: 1,451

  • Conflict-affected: 94

  • Economically disadvantaged and helpless: 995

  • Female students: 693

  • Indigenous communities: 736

  • Dalit: 146

  • Madhesi: 440

  • Persons with disabilities: 64

  • Other backward communities: 168

Schools Granting the Highest Number of Scholarships

The following schools have granted the highest number of scholarships:

  • Jeevan Jyoti School: 631 students

  • Phulbari Education Academy: 261 students

  • Bageshwari Academy: 231 students

  • Kohalpur Bageshwari English Medium School: 203 students

Partial Scholarships to Children of Security Forces

Similarly, 233 children of Armed Police personnel studying at Nepal APF School and 107 children of Nepal Army personnel studying at Baljyoti Secondary School in Kohalpur were also provided with partial scholarships.

Scholarship Value Surpasses NPR 102.5 Million

Kohalpur Municipality reported that the 49 schools have distributed scholarships worth more than NPR 102.5 million. Chief Administrative Officer Man Bahadur Giri stated that the data was collected and made public based on the scholarships schools are required to provide under existing regulations.

Transparency in Scholarship Records

“We have published the information, including parents' names and school principals' contact numbers,” he said. “This makes it clear which schools are providing how much scholarship support.”

According to Chief Administrative Officer Giri, this will help future students coming to Kohalpur from outside to understand the services and support available.
