UGC Notice on Higher Education Scholarships 2082

The University Grants Commission (UGC), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, in accordance with the University Grants Commission Program Procedure, 2082 BS, and the Higher Education Scholarship Management Directive, 2080 BS (First Amendment), has issued this notice regarding scholarships for higher education.

Under the program to increase access to higher education, scholarships will be provided for higher education study to students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students, Dalit students, Muslim female students, children of martyrs and conflict victims, and freed Kamlari students.

Eligible and interested students who have met the minimum qualifications and are currently enrolled in the first year of the bachelor’s or master’s level in the fiscal year 2082/83 BS are informed to complete the scholarship application form online by Chaitra 25, 2082 BS, within office hours.

Applicants must fill out the form by clicking on “Higher Education Scholarship” on the Commission’s website: www.ugcnepal.edu.np, or by using the online system at ugc.pathway.com.np, and must upload the required documents and recommendation letters listed below.

Required documents for new applicants

1. Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate

2. Admission receipt from the concerned academic institution

3. Schedule 2

4. For bachelor’s level: transcript of Grade 12 or equivalent
   For master’s level: copy of bachelor’s level transcript

5. Copy of the bank account holder student’s checkbook
   Accepted banks:

   • Rastriya Banijya Bank

   • Nepal Bank Limited

   • Agricultural Development Bank

6. Category-wise certificate and recommendation letter:

   • Children of martyrs or conflict victims

   • Students with disabilities, with the disability category clearly mentioned

   • Dalit

   • Freed Kamlari

   • Muslim female students

   • Economically disadvantaged students

Documents required for scholarship renewal

Students who have been selected by the Commission for the scholarship and have already received the first, second, or third installment must mandatorily upload the following documents to renew the scholarship and receive the remaining installment.

2. Progress report or marksheet:

   • For bachelor’s level students under the annual system:

     • For the second installment: admit card showing appearance in the first-year examination

     • For the third installment: first-year result

     • For the fourth installment: second-year result

   • For bachelor’s level students under the semester system:

     • For the second installment: second semester admit card

     • For the third installment: second semester result

     • For the fourth installment: fourth semester result

   • For master’s level students:

     • For the second installment: first semester result

3. Copy of the bank account holder student’s checkbook

Notes

1. The age limit for the scholarship is up to 25 years for bachelor’s level and up to 30 years for master’s level. The age limit will not apply to children of martyrs or conflict victims and students with disabilities.

2. Students who received the scholarship in the previous year will not have a new application considered valid.

3. No action will be taken on applications received after the prescribed deadline or applications submitted without the required documents.

4. The Commission will not provide double scholarships to any student for study at the same level.
