Overview
Nepal Police School Shantipur, Chitwan was established in 2075 B.S. (2018 A.D.). It is affiliated with the National Examination Board (NEB) and operates under the Nepal Police Welfare Fund.
As a non-profit institutional school operated by the Nepal Police Welfare Fund, it is dedicated to providing timely, relevant, and quality education to students. The school emphasizes the promotion of human values, national culture, and social ethics, aiming to shape capable, competitive, principled, and ethical citizens who can adapt to the changing global environment. This commitment has made it a key attraction for most students and guardians.
With Nepal adopting a federal structure and the Nepal Police undergoing organizational restructuring accordingly, the government has aimed to expand Nepal Police Schools to all provinces. In line with this goal, based on the decision made by the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) on 2075/02/27 B.S., Chitwan district under Bagmati Province was selected to implement the plan of establishing a provincial-level Nepal Police Residential Secondary School.
To bring this into action, a suitable location was identified in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Ward No. 14, Shantipur. In coordination with the local government, the existing National Basic Community School was transferred for operating the Nepal Police School. Accordingly, from the academic year 2076 B.S., classes from Grade 1 to Grade 5, along with related educational activities, were initiated.
As of 2081 B.S., the school operates up to Grade 10. Once fully expanded, it will offer classes up to Grade 12.
History of Nepal Police Schools
Nepal Police School was originally established in 2040 B.S. at Sanga, Kavrepalanchok, during the tenure of then Inspector General of Police D.B. Lama. The aim was to provide accessible, quality education to children of Nepal Police personnel at affordable fees under the Nepal Police Welfare Fund. School education was then integrated into the welfare programs of Nepal Police.
Recognizing the effectiveness of the Sanga-based school, plans were made to extend similar institutions to all five development regions:
-
In 2041 B.S., Nepal Police Schools were established in Belchautara, Tanahun (Western Region) and Ghorahi, Dang (Mid-Western Region).
-
In 2042 B.S., one was opened in Dhangadhi, Kailali (Far-Western Region).
-
In 2045 B.S., another was set up in Dharan, Sunsari (Eastern Region).
-
