Incognito Mode Feature for Google Map

Like Chrome's Incognito mode, Google has now rolled out the Incognito mode feature for Google Maps. By enabling this mode, navigation and search history will not be saved in the account, as well as will not be visible in the history recommendation section. This new feature will prove to be very useful when the user wants to keep his location confidential or to find out the address of any place without telling anyone. Currently, this feature has been released only for Android users. Soon it can be rolled out for iOS users as well.

Information will reach the internet provider

  • Google has started rolling out this feature. But it may also take some time to reach the users.
  • After the new update, 'incognito mode' can be turned on by opening the google map and tapping on the profile photo. Similarly, it can also be turned off.
  • On turning on the mode, no record will be kept of the search and navigation history to be done on the map. However, it will not have any effect on the save location history beforehand.
  • It is worth noting that even after using this mode, user information will reach the Internet service provider and other Google services. It only hides information from the user. Many regular features of the app do not work after using it.
  • According to Google, in the new model, features such as location history, location sharing, notifications and messages, search history, offline map, your place, media integration, Google Assistant microphone in navigation are turned off.
