Nepali Satellites Danphe and Munal Ready to Launch: Audiovisual materials such as art, photographs, songs, music, history, etc., which represent Nepal, will now reach space. The audio-visual material introducing Nepal in the Munal satellite will be stored in a memory chip in audio format (sound) and sent to space.

Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and Space Academy of Nepal are preparing to send two more satellites named Danphe and Munal as the second version of the satellite. Street artist Kiran Maharjan informed that in the campaign of Munal satellite, his group included thangka, pauwa and modern painting that characterize Nepal.

Rajan Shrestha and Kiran Maharjan are engaged in the production of audio-visual content and uploading it to the satellite. Maharjan claimed that this will be the first time that Nepali audio-visual has gone to the space.

Nepali scientist Dr. Abhash Maske, the founder of the Space Foundation, said that sending audio-visual materials to space to introduce Nepal is a new topic in itself, "The reason behind us doing this is to connect people in the field of art to the construction of satellites." In this way, sending the audio-visual into space is also a symbolic respect for Nepal's art, culture and history."

He informed that both audio and visual content will be sent in audio (sound) medium on Munal satellite. He said that the information on how to decode the sound content sent in this way (bringing it back to its original form) will be mentioned on the board of the satellite.

Information was given about the construction and operation methods of the two satellites at the design review and press conference of Danfe and Munal satellites held at NAST on Friday. Nast's technology faculty head Dr. Rabindra Prasad Dhakal said that since Nepal is preparing for Megha satellite, Nepal needs its own space research center. He informed that NAST is engaged in preliminary preparations for space research center.

The construction and flight of these two satellites have been led by Dr. Dhakal from NAST and Maske from the Space Institute. Four students from Thailand and nine students from Nepal are participating in the Munal Satellite Project. They are being trained and monitored by a senior team of eight people. They are being 'mentored' by a team led by engineer Janardhan Silwal.

The Danphe mission is being prepared in collaboration with Thailand's International Institute of Space Technology for Economic Development (INSTED). NAST has allocated one crore rupees for Damphe and Munal campaigns. Dr. Dhakal said that the campaign was led by Danfe Nast and the campaign was created by the students of Munal Kathmandu High School. It is said that Danfe will be the first of these.

Dr. Maske informed that the main objective of these two satellite missions is to build qualified manpower, develop structures related to space missions and projects, and share with international organizations. According to the satellite campaign group, the plan is to launch the satellite within 2022, but as the technical cooperation body has moved the date, the satellite is ready to be launched by April 2023.

In addition to focusing on the current satellite campaign, photography will be the same as before, but the high-resolution camera will remain. First, there was a resolution of 50 square kilometers. Now it is said that it will be reduced a little and the campaign will be connected to the camera.
