Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) Vacancy

The Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) is a trans-national disaster aid alliance that works to facilitate cooperation and understanding between governments, private companies, and NGOs in the Asia Pacific region.

Countries of the Asia-Pacific region experience many severe natural disasters. In order to prevent, address and minimize damage from such disasters, the establishment of a comprehensive system of cooperation and support drawing on the private sector, non-governmental organizations, local communities, central governments, and local authorities is urgently required.

VACANT POSITION:

1. COUNTRY COORDINATOR (1 vacancy)

Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent field visits to working districts.

Minimum Requirement:

Master's degree in public administration, social science, management, or other related fields. At least 6-7 years' experience in project management in the field of disaster risk reduction, humanitarian assistance, development, or other relevant experience. Fluency in written and spoken both English and Nepali.

Preferred Requirement:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR], Disaster Risk Management [DRMJ], and Emergency Operation Centres.
  • Prior experience working with DRR/DRM.
  • A background of working with/within the private sector. Experience in working or liaising with IINGO, UN Agencies, and government organizations.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills including direct supervision of admin and program staff.
  • Strong intellectual and leadership skills in disaster and volunteer management background.
  • Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
  • High standard of time management skills.
  • Being able to prioritize his/her work and ensure that he/she can meet the deadline.
  • Able to produce high-quality work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.

2. SENIOR ADMIN FINANCE OFFICER (1 vacancy)

Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent field visits to working districts.

Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Management, CA/ACCA, or equivalent. More than 3-4 years' experience in Finance/ Accounts/ Administration. Fluency in written and spoken both English and Nepali.

Preferred Requirement:

  • High standard of budget management skills.
  • Being able to estimate the appropriateness of construction costs and control the budget.
  • High standard of time management skills.
  • Being able to prioritize his/her work and ensure that he/she can meet the deadline.
  • Knowledge of taxation in Nepal. Familiar with the I RD's taxpayer portal.
  • Ability to interpret and implement the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new software. Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

3. PROGRAM MANAGER (2 vacancies)

Duty Station:

(1) Madhesh Province [Jaleshwar, Mahottari] with frequent field visits to working districts. [Preference will be given to the local applicant for Madhesh Pradesh).

(2) Kathmandu with frequent field visits to working districts.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Master's degree in public administration, social science, management, or other related fields.
  • At least 4-5 years experience in project management in the field of disaster risk reduction, humanitarian assistance, development, or other relevant experience.
  • Fluency in written and spoken both English and Nepali.

Preferred Requirement:
