Nepal Telecom Invites Applications for 129 Vacant Posts

Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited (Nepal Telecom), through its Central Office Recruitment Committee, has invited applications—under an open and inclusive competitive examination process and with the concurrence of the Public Service Commission—for permanent recruitment in various vacant posts. As per the published notice, eligible Nepali citizens may apply through the online system.

Nepal Telecom has requested applications for various technical and administrative positions ranging from Deputy Manager (Level 9) to Junior Technician (Level 3). According to the notice, vacancies have been opened for a total of 129 positions. The highest number of vacancies is for Junior Technician (Level 3), with 67 positions. Similarly, 23 positions have been requested for Assistant (Level 4), and 12 positions for Telecom Technician (Level 4).

How to Apply Online

Applicants must fill out the online form within the specified time through Nepal Telecom’s website or via vacancy.ntc.net.np.

While completing the application form, applicants must scan and upload the following:

A recently taken passport-size photograph
A specimen signature
Academic qualification certificates
Citizenship certificate
Inclusive group documents (if applying under an inclusive category)

After submitting the online form, applicants may pay the fee through ConnectIPS or other gateways using the Payment Option shown.

As per the mandamus order issued on 2079/10/24 in the certiorari-related petition, including Writ No. 078-W0-660, by the Honorable Supreme Court, recruitment will be carried out accordingly after legal provisions are made.

Minimum Required Qualifications

For Level 9 Deputy Manager (Telecom) and Level 8 Senior Engineer (Telecom)

Must have passed Master’s level in any one of the following subjects from a recognized educational institution, as specified for initial entry into officer-level posts of the relevant service/group of this Company: “Telecommunications and Communication or Radio or Electrical and Communications or Electrical and Electronics or Information Technology, Computer Software or Computer Hardware Engineering or Electronics Engineering (any one among Communication, Electronics, Computer, Radio) or Computer Science, Information Communication or Electrical Engineering or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent subject.”

Must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law, and must have at least five years of service experience in an officer-level post in the Government of Nepal civil service/government service, or university, or teacher service, or an organized institution.

However, for candidates who have obtained a PhD-level degree, the candidate may be eligible even if the said experience is two years less.

For Level 9 Deputy Manager (Administration) and Level 8 Senior Administrative Officer

Must have passed Master’s level in the subject specified for initial entry into officer-level posts of the relevant service/group of this Company from a recognized educational institution, and must have at least five years of service experience in an officer-level post in the Government of Nepal civil service/government service, or university, or teacher service, or an organized institution.

However, for candidates who have obtained a PhD-level degree, the candidate may be eligible even if the said experience is two years less.

For Level 8 Senior Accounts Officer (CA)

Must have passed the Chartered Accountancy or Certified Public Accountancy examination from a recognized institute and be registered with the Nepal Chartered Accountants Institute as per prevailing Nepali law.

For Level 7 Senior Accounts Officer

Must have passed Master’s level in Management, Commerce, or Business Administration from a recognized educational institution, and must have at least five years of service experience in an officer-level post in the Government of Nepal civil service/government service, or university, or teacher service, or an organized institution.

However, for candidates who have obtained a PhD-level degree, the candidate may be eligible even if the said experience is two years less.

For Level 7 Telecom Engineer (Computer)

Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in any one of the following subjects from a recognized educational institution: Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Communication, Computer Software, Computer Hardware, or Computer Engineering, or an equivalent subject, and be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law.

For Level 7 Telecom Engineer (Electrical)

Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in any one of the following subjects from a recognized educational institution: Electrical, Electronics and Electrical, Electrical and Communications, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent subject, and be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law.

For Level 7 Engineer (Civil)

Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized educational institution and be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law.

For Level 6 Assistant Accounts Officer

Must have passed Bachelor’s level or equivalent in Management, Commerce, or Business Administration from a recognized educational institution.

For Level 6 Assistant Administrative Officer

Must have passed Bachelor’s level or equivalent in any subject from a recognized educational institution.

For Level 5 Overseer

Must have passed certificate level or diploma engineering or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Survey Engineering from a recognized educational institution.

For Level 4 Assistant

Must have obtained at least GPA 2 in S.E.E., or passed S.L.C. or equivalent, and passed the pre-qualification examination conducted by the Public Service Commission and obtained the certificate.

For Level 4 Telecom Technician

Must have passed S.L.C. or equivalent from a recognized educational institution and obtained training in Transmission, Outside, Power, Switching, or Telecom Technician from Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited’s Telecommunications Training Center, or passed Level 2 skills test in Transmission, Outside, Power, or Switching from the National Skill Testing Center.

For Level 3 Junior Technician

Must have passed Grade 10 from a recognized educational institution and obtained training in Transmission, Outside, Power, Switching, or Junior Technician from Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited’s Telecommunications Training Center, or passed Level 1 skills test in Transmission, Outside, Power, or Switching from the National Skill Testing Center.

Age Limit

By the final date for submitting applications, the applicant must be:

For assistant-level posts: completed 18 years and not exceeded 35 years.
For officer-level posts Level 6 to Level 7: completed 21 years and not exceeded 35 years.
For officer-level posts Level 8 and Level 9: completed 21 years and not exceeded 40 years.

Additionally, for all posts, for female candidates and candidates with disabilities, the upper age limit must not exceed 40 years.

For this purpose, age will be calculated based on the final date for submission of applications (the 21-day deadline from the date of publication of the notice). The period allowed for submitting applications by paying double fee will not be counted.

The age limit will not apply to incumbent permanent employees of Nepal Telecommunications Company.

Type of Examination

Written, interview (for technical service Level 4 Telecom Technician and Level 3 Junior Technician, there will also be a practical examination).

Process to Pay Examination Fee

After submitting the online application form, go to the Payment Option in the online portal and make payment by selecting any one of the online payment service providers designated by the Company. Details of the online payment service providers have been published on the Company’s website.

Final Date to Submit Application

Up to 2082/11/07, and up to 2082/11/14 by paying double fee.

The date, time, and examination center for the written examinations of the above advertisements will be as determined by the Public Service Commission.

Note: If applying only under an inclusive group without applying under open category, the examination fee for the first inclusive group will be the same as the open fee. For additional inclusive groups, additional fees will apply as stated above.

Educational qualifications, inclusion certificates, council registration certificates, training, experience, and service period obtained after the final date of application submission (regular fee deadline) will not be valid.

Candidates who studied in foreign institutions must mandatorily attach an equivalence letter determining equivalence of the obtained qualification from the concerned authority.

Additional Documents to Prepare for Inclusive Group Applications

Candidates who wish to apply for inclusive group advertisements must prepare the following documents at the time of application and only then submit the application. If the stated documents are not available, the application may be cancelled at any time.

For Adivasi/Janajati:
For castes listed under the Nepal Adivasi/Janajati Upliftment National Foundation Act, based on the list of that Act; however, if there are more than one surnames within a listed caste, a document certified by the Chief District Officer, on the recommendation of the head of the concerned local level, certifying the surname within the listed caste.
For Dalit:
For castes listed by the National Dalit Commission, based on that list; however, if there are more than one surnames within a listed caste, a document certified by the Chief District Officer, on the recommendation of the head of the concerned local level, certifying the surname within the listed caste.
For persons with disabilities:
An identity card certifying disability issued by the Social Welfare Council on the recommendation of an approved doctor.
For Madhesi:
A document certifying as Madhesi issued by the institution specified by the Government of Nepal through publication of notice in the Nepal Gazette; however, until such institution is specified, a document certified by the Chief District Officer on the recommendation of the head of the concerned local level certifying as Madhesi.
For Backward Region:
Citizenship certificate obtained from the relevant district mentioning permanent residence in Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, Humla, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Dolpa, and Jajarkot districts, and a document certified by the concerned rural municipality or municipality within three months prior to the final date of application registration stating that the applicant is currently permanently residing in the same place.

Offices Where Work Must Be Performed

Candidates recommended for appointment at Level 3 and Level 4 must mandatorily work, for the period specified in the Employee Regulations, in offices of geographical areas Class A, B, and C as per Schedule 8 of the Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited Employee Regulations, 2078.
Candidates recommended for appointment at Level 5 (Civil) must mandatorily work, for the period specified in the Employee Regulations, in directorates and offices outside the Kathmandu Valley.
Except for Senior Accounts Officer (CA), candidates recommended for all officer-level posts must mandatorily work, for the period specified in the Employee Regulations, in directorates and offices outside the Kathmandu Valley.
