Details Published for Nepal Telecommunications Authority Chairperson and Member Applications
Kathmandu. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has published details on the minimum qualifications, documents to be attached, and application submission place for the posts of chairperson and member of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority.
According to the details issued by the ministry, eligible Nepali citizens must fill in the application and form in the prescribed format and submit them to the ministry along with the required documents.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates submitting applications must be Nepali citizens who have completed 30 years of age and have not exceeded 65 years by the final date for application submission.
As per Section 5, Sub-section 1 of the Telecommunications Act, 2053, candidates for the post of chairperson must have obtained at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized educational institution in a technical or administrative field related to telecommunications services, market management, accounting and auditing, or the legal field. The notice states that at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field is also required.
For the post of member, selection will be made to ensure representation from different fields related to telecommunications services. According to the notice, 1 member will be selected from the technical or administrative field, 1 from the market management field, 1 from the accounting and auditing field, and 1 from the legal field.
Candidates for the post of member must have obtained at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized educational institution in the relevant field. They must also have at least 7 years of experience in the relevant field.
Candidates must not have obtained a permanent residential permit from any foreign country. They must also not have been deemed ineligible for appointment under prevailing law.
Documents to Be Attached with the Application
Candidates must submit the following documents with the application:

Application and form as per the attached format

Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate and national identity card certificate

Personal details showing qualifications, including bio data

Copy of educational qualification certificates

Equivalence certificate, if the qualification is from a foreign educational institution

Copy of documents showing the period of experience

Sealed professional work plan of 3,000 to 5,000 words, prepared on A4-size paper in Nepali or English

2 copies of a recently taken passport-size photograph

Self-declaration form as prescribed
According to the ministry, the candidate’s name must be written only on the cover page of the professional work plan. No sign identifying the candidate may be included in any other part of the work plan.
The notice states that educational qualification and experience certificates must be self-attested by the candidate with signature.
Application Form and Self-Declaration
For the application, the application and form must be used in the attached prescribed format. A self-declaration in the attached prescribed format must also be submitted.
Application Submission Place
Applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Institution Coordination Section, Singha Durbar.

The ministry has stated that applications not submitted duly or not received within the deadline will not be processed. The notice states that the authority to approve or reject applications will remain with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
