Nepal Television Competitive Exam Vacancy Notice 2082

 Public Service Broadcasting Nepal, Nepal Television, Singha Durbar - Nepal Television is calling for applications from eligible Nepali citizens to fill the approved vacant posts as per the sanctioned positions.

The positions will be filled through competitive examinations under the open and inclusive categories. Approval for recruitment has been received from the Public Service Commission on 2082/03/30. 

Applicants who meet the specified qualifications must submit their applications within 21 (twenty-one) days from the date of publication of this notice. Candidates may apply by visiting the official website of Nepal Television at www.ntv.org.np through the Online Application portal, or directly through vacancy.ntv.org.np/job-list. 

Applications not submitted within the specified deadline or incomplete applications will not be considered for participation in the competitive examination.

Special Notes Regarding the Vacancy

1. Legal and Court-Related Conditions

1.1 As per the directive issued on 2079/10/24 by the Honourable Supreme Court with Writ No. 078-WO-0660, recruitment will proceed only after the required legal arrangements are fulfilled.

1.2 Based on the directive issued by the Honourable Supreme Court on 2079/04/23 regarding Writ No. 079-WO-0077, a total of 108 positions under open and internal competition remain unchanged. 

Minimum Qualifications

1. Chief Producer: Master’s degree in Mass Communication from a recognized educational institution and at least 5 years of experience in an officer-level position in civil service, government service, university, teaching service, or organized institutions. Candidates with a PhD may apply with a minimum of 3 years of such experience.

2. Executive News Editor: Master’s degree in Journalism from a recognized educational institution and a minimum of 5 years of officer-level service in civil/government/university/teaching/organized institutions. For PhD holders, the required experience is reduced to 3 years.

3. Executive Cameraperson: Master’s degree in the related field from a recognized educational institution with at least 5 years of officer-level experience in civil/government/university/teaching/organized institutions. Candidates with a PhD may apply with 3 years of experience.

4. Senior Administrative Officer: Master’s degree from a recognized educational institution.

5. Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE) with a specialization in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, and Broadcasting, or Electronics and Telecommunications from a recognized institution.

6. Administrative Officer: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized educational institution.

7. Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Management from a recognized educational institution.

8. Video Editor: Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject or a Bachelor’s degree along with at least 3 years of work experience in video editing from a recognized institution.

9. Cameraperson: Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field or a Bachelor's degree along with a 3-month basic training in TV production/cinematography and 1 year of relevant work experience.

10. Senior Assistant – Administration: Proficiency Certificate Level / 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized institution.

11. Senior Assistant – Technical: Proficiency Certificate Level / 10+2 or equivalent in Radio and Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. 

Examination Details

• Types of Exams: Written, practical, and interview.

• Fee Structure: Candidates applying under both open and inclusive categories must pay an additional 25% of the examination fee for each inclusive group. 

Payment Procedure

4.1 After submitting the online application, payment must be made by scanning the provided QR code as per instructions.

4.2 If applying for multiple advertisements, separate fees must be paid for each.

• Regular Deadline: 2082/04/19

• Extended Deadline (with double fee): 2082/04/26 

Age Limit

1. For Officer Level (6 and 7): Must have completed 21 years and not exceed 35 years by the final application date.

2. For Officer Level (8 and 9): Should not exceed 40 years.

3. For Assistant Level: Must have completed 18 years and not exceed 35 years.

4. For women and persons with disabilities: Maximum age is 40 years for both levels.

5. For current staff at Nepal Television: Age will be considered as per Regulation 71 of the Employee Service Rules. 

Work Location

Nepal Television Central Office, Singha Durbar, and other broadcasting offices in various districts. 

Required Documents for Inclusive Categories

• Adivasi/Janajati: Certificate verifying caste from the relevant local authority and Chief District Officer based on the list under the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities Act.

• Madhesi: Certificate from the designated institution or, if not specified in the gazette, from the local government authority and certified by the Chief District Officer.

• Dalit: Caste verification from the National Dalit Commission or a certified caste and surname document from the local authority and the Chief District Officer.

• Persons with Disabilities: Disability certificate issued upon recommendation of an approved medical practitioner and endorsed by the Social Welfare Council, or as per prevailing law.

• Backward Areas: Citizenship certificate mentioning permanent residence in Achham, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dolpa, Bajhang, Bajura, Mugu, or Humla, and permanent residency certificate from the respective local municipality. 

Additional Notes

• Open and inclusive category exams will be conducted jointly; no separate exams will be held.

• Combined results of written, practical (including computer skills), and interviews will be published in alphabetical order by service and group.

• The final recommendation for the appointment will be made based on the overall merit order.

• All rights regarding approval, rejection, and cancellation of applications remain with the Recruitment Committee. 

Important Clarifications

• Required experience must be completed by the final regular deadline. The extended deadline (with double fee) will not be considered for age, education, experience, or qualifications.

• Applicants needing a scribe must contact the Public Service Commission at least 7 days before the written exam.

• The required academic qualifications must be obtained by the final deadline. Applicants from foreign institutions must provide equivalence certification.

• Salary and Benefits: As per Nepal Television’s internal regulations.

• Interview Dates: To be announced after the publication of written exam results.

• Examinations: Conducted by the Public Service Commission. The Commission will determine the exam schedule.

• Applications not meeting qualifications, missing required documents, or not submitted within the timeline will be rejected.
