Palpa District Post Office Calls for Applications for 18 ‘Halkara’ Contract Posts

The District Post Office, Palpa, under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of Nepal, has invited applications for the post of ‘Halkara’ on a contract basis. The notice was published on 2083 Bhadra 31 to recruit a total of 18 employees for the District Post Office and all subordinate municipal and rural municipality post offices.

Eligible and interested Nepali citizens may submit applications within office hours by 2083 Ashoj 14.

Details of Posts and Offices

According to the notice, a total of 18 Halkara posts are available, including 10 under the open category, 3 for women, 2 for Indigenous/Janajati candidates, 2 for Madhesi candidates, and 1 for Dalit candidates. The office-wise distribution is as follows:

  • District Post Office, Palpa: 1 post (Open)

  • Post Office, Nisdi Rural Municipality: 3 posts (1 Open, 1 Women, 1 Indigenous/Janajati)

  • Post Office, Rampur Municipality: 1 post (Open)

  • Post Office, Purbakhola Rural Municipality: 2 posts (1 Open, 1 Dalit)

  • Post Office, Rambha Rural Municipality: 2 posts (1 Open, 1 Madhesi)

  • Post Office, Bagnaskali Rural Municipality: 2 posts (1 Open, 1 Madhesi)

  • Post Office, Mathagadhi Rural Municipality: 2 posts (1 Open, 1 Indigenous/Janajati)

  • Post Office, Tinau Rural Municipality: 2 posts (1 Open, 1 Women)

  • Post Office, Ribdikot Rural Municipality: 1 post (Open)

  • Post Office, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality: 2 posts (1 Open, 1 Women)

Note: The office has stated that the number of posts under inclusive categories has been determined in accordance with the Civil Service Act, Civil Service Rules, and the Public Service Commission Directive, 2079. A candidate may not apply under more than one advertisement.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Must be a Nepali citizen.

  • Must have passed SEE or an equivalent qualification from a recognized educational institution. Candidates who have passed from a foreign educational institution must submit an equivalence certificate.

  • Must have completed 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 45 years of age by the final application date.

  • Must have acquired basic computer skills.

  • Must possess a two-wheeler driving license.

  • Must have work experience related to postal services. Marks will be awarded for a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years of experience only.

Selection Method and Examination Syllabus

Candidates will be selected through three stages:

  • First Stage — Publication of Preliminary List/Shortlist: Weightage: 65 marks. A preliminary list equivalent to three times the number of required posts will be published based on marks awarded for educational qualifications, work experience, other qualifications, place of residence, and inclusion category.

  • Second Stage — Written Examination (Objective): Weightage: 20 marks. The examination will cover General Knowledge and Current Affairs for 5 marks, Computer Knowledge for 5 marks, and Postal Service-related topics for 10 marks.

  • Third Stage — Interview: Weightage: 15 marks.

Note: Final recommendations will be made by adding the marks obtained by candidates selected for the interview across all stages. The dates of the written examination and interview will be published later.

Application Fee and Payment Process

  • Application Fee: Rs. 200/- (two hundred) only. Candidates applying under an inclusive category must pay an additional fee of Rs. 100/- (one hundred) for each additional group.

  • Place of Fee Payment: The fee must be deposited in cash at the Revenue Section of the District Post Office.

  • Place to Submit Application: District Post Office, Tansen, Palpa.

  • Application Deadline: 2083/06/14 within office hours. If the final date falls on a public holiday, applications may be submitted on the next day the office opens.

  • Certificates of the required minimum and higher educational qualifications

  • Certificate of postal-related work experience

  • Certificate establishing eligibility under the relevant inclusive category
