Nepal Police invites applications from qualified Nepali citizens to fill the following vacant posts under the General Duty Police Group through open competition in accordance with inclusive provisions.
Candidates applying for the post of Police Assistant Sub-Inspector must submit their applications online through the Nepal Police Online Recruitment Management System (ORMS). The online application form can be completed through Online Application under the Career section of www.nepalpolice.gov.np or through https://careers.nepalpolice.gov.np.
Candidates applying for Police Office Assistant posts must appear in person to submit their applications.

5. Age Limit
Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (General Duty)
A. General age requirement
Candidates must have completed 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 24 years by the final date for application registration.
Date of Birth: From 2059/07/10 to 2065/07/10.
However, non-gazetted police employees serving in the Police Service who participate in the open competition must not have exceeded 35 years of age.
Date of Birth: From 2048/07/10 to 2065/07/10.
Such candidates must also have completed Basic Police Constable Training.
B. Serving unclassified police employees
Serving unclassified police employees must not have exceeded 25 years of age in accordance with Rule 40 of the Police Regulations, 2071, as amended.
Police Office Assistant
Candidates must have completed 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 25 years by the final date for application registration.
Date of Birth: From 2058/07/10 to 2065/07/10.
6. Minimum Required Qualifications
Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (General Duty)
Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualification: Passed Certificate Level or equivalent from a recognized university or educational institution.

Must not have been convicted of any criminal offence involving moral turpitude.
-
Must not have been convicted of violating human rights or humanitarian law.
-
Must not be a member of a political party.
-
Must not be a member of a terrorist organization.

Must meet the following height, chest and weight requirements:

Must not have been dismissed from employment in a manner that would generally disqualify the person from future government service.

7. Documents to Be Included with the Application
Candidates must submit the following documents:

For posts requiring online application, a recently taken photograph clearly showing the full face, including both ears, in the resolution and size required by ORMS. Male candidates must have their beard and hair trimmed.

Candidates applying for Police Office Assistant posts must submit five identical recent passport-size photographs clearly showing the full face, including both ears. Male candidates must have their beard and hair trimmed.

Candidates who studied outside Nepal must submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Curriculum Development Centre or Tribhuvan University.

For the Martyr/Disabled Police Family category, documents confirming membership of a martyr/disabled police family and a document certifying the relationship must be submitted.

For Indigenous/Janajati candidates:

Eligibility will be determined on the basis of communities listed under the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities Act.

Where more than one surname exists within a listed community, a document certified by the Chief District Officer, based on a recommendation from the head of the relevant local level/body, confirming that the surname belongs to the listed community must be submitted.

For Madhesi candidates:

A certificate identifying the candidate as Madhesi from an institution designated by the Government of Nepal through a notice published in the Nepal Gazette must be submitted.

Until such an institution is designated through a Nepal Gazette notice, a certificate issued by the Chief District Officer based on the recommendation of the head of the relevant local body must be submitted.

For Dalit candidates:

Eligibility will be based on communities listed by the National Dalit Commission.

Where more than one surname exists within a listed community, candidates must submit a document from the relevant authority certifying that the surname belongs to the listed community.

For the Backward Area category:

Candidates must be permanent residents of Achham, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dolpa, Bajhang, Bajura, Mugu or Humla.

The citizenship certificate must have been obtained from the respective district.
-
The original recommendation letter from the relevant rural municipality or municipality confirming that the candidate remained a permanent resident of the same place up to the date of application submission must also be provided.

For Police Office Assistant posts, candidates must personally sign the back of the copies of documents submitted with the application form, stating: “The copy is correct as per the original.”
Note: Candidates applying online must scan the original copies of the required documents specified in the advertisement and upload them in PDF format as prescribed by the ORMS system. Candidates must also upload their photograph, signature, right and left thumbprints, and the front and back sides of their citizenship certificate in JPG format.
8. Application Registration and Fee Payment Through ORMS Online
A. Online Application Process
Candidates must visit the Nepal Police online application portal at https://careers.nepalpolice.gov.np and complete the registration process.
After obtaining a username and password, candidates must log in, enter all required information, and upload clearly scanned copies of the original required documents.
The application may be submitted only after the profile is 100% complete.
B. Application Fee Payment
After submitting the online application form, candidates will receive an Application ID.
The required application fee corresponding to the Application ID may be paid through the ORMS Online system by accessing the Comptroller General's Portal and using:

For offline payment, candidates may download a voucher containing the transaction reference (EBP Code) and deposit the amount at the relevant bank holding the revenue account assigned to the respective application collection centre.
9. Examination Method
The examination will be conducted as specified in the relevant Nepal Police syllabus:

The written examination will be conducted by the Public Service Commission at examination centres designated by the Commission.

A 20% mark deduction will apply for incorrect answers to objective multiple-choice questions.

For objective multiple-choice questions, only answers written as A, B, C or D in English capital letters will be recognized.

13. Special Notice Regarding the Advertisement
Pursuant to the mandamus order issued by the Supreme Court on 2079/10/24 in writ petitions seeking certiorari, including Writ No. 078-WO-0662, in which Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal, Kathmandu, was also named as a respondent, the matter of compensating for the loss resulting from the non-allocation of inclusive posts in FY 2079/80—including the posts that would actually have fallen under the inclusive groups based on their proportional share of the total posts after the necessary legal provisions concerning inclusive groups are established—will be handled as provided by law.
For the time being, this notice has therefore been published to fill the posts in accordance with the prevailing law.

Applications that do not meet the prescribed conditions may be cancelled at any time.

If an application is cancelled because the prescribed conditions have not been met, the application fee will not be refunded.

Candidates must bring their admission card and original citizenship certificate when appearing at every stage of the examination.

Results will be published after completion of each stage of the examination, and only successful candidates will be allowed to participate in the next stage.

Under Rule 13(5) of the Police Regulations, 2071, as amended, if additional sanctioned positions are created or positions become vacant after the Recruitment Committee publishes the advertisement, the Recruitment Committee may publish a public notice before publication of the written examination results and add those positions to the same advertisement.

A single examination will be conducted for candidates under the open and inclusive groups. Based on the marks obtained, separate competition will be conducted only among candidates within the respective inclusive categories to fill the allocated posts.

Male candidates participating in the preliminary health examination and physical fitness test must have their hair cut short so that both ears are clearly visible.

Candidates themselves will be responsible for any accident occurring during the selection examination process.

Prescribed fees will be charged for the detailed and special medical examinations.

A. For Posts Requiring Online Application

Candidates must upload scanned copies of the original required certificates when submitting the online application. Candidates themselves will be responsible for the certificates submitted.

Applications not submitted within the prescribed deadline, applications that do not meet the conditions, applications completed without following the prescribed procedure, or applications for which the required fee has not been paid may be cancelled at any time.

During the application period, Nepal Police will publish a notice on its website for candidates who have applied through ORMS but have incomplete required information or documents to update their records. Applications of candidates who fail to update the missing documents within the time specified in that notice will automatically be cancelled.

When appearing for the interview, candidates must bring the originals of all required certificates and documents specified for submission with the application, along with copies personally certified with the statement “The copy is correct as per the original.”
