
TU IOST BIT Admission Notice 2082 - Bachelors in Information Technology
Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology (TU IOST), Dean's Office, Examination Branch, Balkhu, Kathmandu. An urgent notice regarding new student admissions for the four-year undergraduate Bachelors in Information Technology (BIT) program for the year 2082 has been published.
This program is conducted under the semester examination system and grading system at the constituent campuses under Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology.
1. Minimum Qualification for Application
(A) From any stream of higher secondary or secondary school, must have studied English and either Mathematics or Computer as 100 full mark subjects in Grade 11 and 12 or equivalent. Must have obtained at least C grade in English and either Mathematics or Computer (must have studied at least one of these two), passed other subjects, secured minimum GPA 1.6, and a final CGPA of at least 1.8.
(B) From TU or any TU-recognized institution, must have passed proficiency certificate level or equivalent examination in any faculty with 100 full marks in English and either Mathematics or Computer (must have studied at least one of these two) with at least second division.
(C) In A Level examination, must have taken English and either Mathematics or Computer with 100 full marks and passed with at least a D grade (with or without small letter).
(D) CTEVT graduates with a three-year diploma must have studied English and either Mathematics or Computer with 100 full marks and passed with at least second division.
(E) For those with academic qualifications obtained from foreign educational institutions or universities, an equivalency certificate from Curriculum Development Centre, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur must be submitted.
2. Application Process – Completely Online
(A) Applicants must go to the BIT entrance link available on the IOST website https://iost.tu.edu.np, fill the application form themselves, and submit it online through the same website.
(B) The online form will be available on the IoST TU website from 2082.04.18 at 10:00 AM until 2082.05.17. The form will automatically close after the deadline.
(C) Forms can be filled at any time during the specified dates from any place with internet access.
(D) The entrance exam fee of NPR 1,850 (in words: one thousand eight hundred fifty only) can be paid online using the app or link provided on the IoST website. The application form must be filled using the Product ID / Voucher code / Transaction ID received after payment. Students are encouraged to pay and fill the application form online. The paid fee will not be refunded.
(E) Alternatively, payment can be made through any branch of Global IME Bank Ltd. into the account in the name of the Institute of Science and Technology. The bank voucher number must be mandatorily entered. The fee paid via bank voucher is also non-refundable.
(F) While filling the form, applicants must strictly follow the instructions provided on the online portal and upload the required documents before submitting.
Required Documents for Upload:
(i) Transcript of Grade 11 and Grade 12 or transcript of the proficiency certificate level (for those who passed from old higher secondary or proficiency level)
or
(ii) Marks sheet of Grade 11 and transcript of Grade 12 (for those who passed from old higher secondary or secondary level)
or
(iii) Marks sheet of Grade 11 and admit card of Grade 12 (only for candidates appearing in this academic year’s Grade 12 examination). Such candidates must mandatorily upload the Grade 12 mark sheet/transcript after results are published, otherwise they will not be allowed to participate in the entrance examination.
(G) After submitting the form online, the acknowledgement page must be printed.
(H) Once the application form is approved, admit cards will be provided online in phases. The admit card must be downloaded and color printed. Candidates must attend the examination in their selected district/center with the admit card. They must also carry a valid photo ID that proves their identity (such as citizenship certificate, driving license, voter ID, national ID, or admit card of the latest academic level).

5. Entrance Examination Details
(A) The entrance exam will carry 100 full marks. Based on I.Sc./Grade 11 and 12 or equivalent curriculum, the exam will contain 50 marks of English and 50 marks of Mathematics or Computer (candidates may choose either Mathematics or Computer).
Objective/Multiple Choice questions will be asked from the following subjects:

(B) All entrance exam questions will be objective.
(C) A minimum of 35% marks must be obtained to pass the entrance exam.
(D) In case of a tie in entrance scores, placement will be determined based on the marks obtained in Mathematics or Computer. If still tied, then based on marks in English. If all marks are the same, then lower academic level results will be considered. Marks from these criteria will not be published.
