Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology Notice on Planned Admission in December 2023

The approach is designed to produce graduates who are "job creators" rather than "job seekers". Academic programs to be offered are Research Master's and Doctor of Philosophy in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Forest Biomaterials Science and Engineering, Organic Agriculture, and Tourism Science and Engineering. 1. Academic Programs 

The teaching and research activities of the University will be guided by the real-life needs of the industry and delivered by the Institutes engaged in research related to specific economic sectors. The students will pursue their study in close collaboration with related industries and are expected to develop a new technology for collaborating industrial partners. This approach is designed to produce graduates who are "job creators" rather than "job seekers". 

Academic programs to be offered are Research Master's and Doctor of Philosophy in the following areas:

2. Data Science
3. Forest Biomaterials Science and Engineering
4. Organic Agriculture
5. Tourism Science and Engineering

2. Admission Schedule

The tentative admission schedule for academic year 2023/24 is as follows:

November 3, 2023        Call for Applications

November 17                Last date of Applications

November 18-22	Selection of students. The selection will be based on the presentation of a research concept paper, academic credentials, references, interview etc. Available research areas for students will be articulated in the Call for Applications.
November 23	Publication of admission list
November 27	Last date for admission
November 28	Orientation
November 30	Registration for electives and non-credit courses
December 1	Instruction starts

3.      Tentative Qualification Requirements for Admission

Ph.D. 

• Master's in Engineering/Technology/Science subjects or other relevant fields from recognized universities with the minimum CGPA as defined in the Call for Applications.
• Completed thesis work at Master's level.
• Submission of Research Concept Paper for one of the themes articulated in the Call for Applications. The length of the concept paper should be within 2,000 to 2,500 words.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals would be an advantage.
• A write up of 600 to 700 words explaining the reason for seeking enrolment at MBUST.
• Description of abilities, including those related to extracurricular activities, of the applicant, which could be relevant for successful completion of the program.

Research Master's 

• 4-year Bachelor's in science/engineering/technology or other relevant subjects from well recognized universities with the minimum CGPA as defined in the Call for Applications.
• Submission of a research concept paper for one of the themes articulated in the Call for Applications. The length of the concept paper should be within 1,500 to 2,000 words.
• Undergraduate thesis/report preferred.
• A write up of 600 to 700 words explaining the reason for seeking enrolment at MBUST.
• Description of abilities, including those related to extracurricular activities, of the applicant, which could be relevant for successful completion of the program.

Contingent upon the availability of funds scholarship of Rs. 30,000 per month will be provided for 36 months to all PhD students and scholarship of Rs. 25,000 per month for four Master's students in each program for 24 months.
