Overview
Nepal is primarily an agricultural country, and most people here are engaged in farming. Due to the diverse geography, a large portion of the country comprises rural areas where traditional agriculture and animal husbandry have long been practiced.
To improve farmers' living standards by increasing their income through skill-based training, the Institute of Community Services (ICS) was registered on Chaitra 13, 2049 B.S., and received affiliation from the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) at the end of Ashadh 2053 B.S. to operate a 15-month Veterinary JTA (Pre-Diploma in Livestock Production / Animal Health) program. Initially established in Tikapur, Kailali, the program was relocated in 2064 B.S. to Sharada Vidya Niketan, Dhangadhi, where it continues to run.
Subject experts deliver the training to maintain quality and effectiveness. Students are disciplined and focused on practical skills. The program includes educational tours to model agricultural and animal farms in Nepal. Many graduates are now employed in various institutions or running their own businesses, while some have also been appointed as technical assistants by the government of Nepal.
Message from the Training Head
Skill-based education is needed now. Knowledge without practical competence is incomplete. Although agriculture has been the mainstay of Nepal since ancient times, its practices have remained mainly traditional. This has led to low productivity and low income among farmers.
Agriculture includes crop farming, horticulture, and animal husbandry. Animal husbandry is a major component. Proper technical training in livestock, poultry, and fish farming can enhance production and uplift farmers' incomes.
Despite being an agricultural country, Nepal imports many agricultural goods, weakening its economy. Therefore, increasing local agricultural production and creating job opportunities within the country are essential.
ICS is committed to producing skilled and competitive agricultural technicians and is preparing to launch diploma-level programs. We seek support for the institution's holistic development.
I extend best wishes to this institute's students, guardians, and well-wishers.

Student Reflections
Deepak Bahadur Budha
Technical education is essential in today's society. One key factor behind my success has been the practical learning focus of this institute, which is recognized by CTEVT. ICS provided a friendly learning environment with appropriate guidance for the future and offered a fully practical, skill-based, and self-employment-oriented education.
I achieved academic success thanks to students' dedication and the consistent efforts of skilled and committed instructors. I express my sincere gratitude to this institution. I am a Level-IV Livestock Technician at the Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Expert Center, Bajura.
Anil Bahadur Thapa
ICS has successfully earned its own reputable standing with CTEVT affiliation. For the past two decades, it has delivered quality technical education and produced skilled manpower.
I studied the Veterinary JTA (Pre-Diploma in Livestock Production and Animal Health) program at ICS in 2073/074 and obtained excellent results. Currently, I am working as a Level IV Livestock Technician at the Office of the Rural Municipality, Devghat.
Harish Kumar B.C.
First and foremost, I would like to thank the management committee, principal, and all the faculty members of ICS. The peaceful environment, experienced trainers, fully equipped laboratories, and a practical field area within the compound create a disciplined learning atmosphere.
The institute also organizes educational visits to various relevant locations, allowing students to gain direct knowledge from the field. I passed the Veterinary JTA program with distinction in the academic year 2077/078. I now operate my own Gokuldham Cow and Buffalo Farm in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–01.
