Kamala Science Campus (कमला साइन्स क्याम्पस, ढुंग्रेबास, कमलामाई, सिन्धुली) was established in 2066 BS (2009 AD) as a community-based campus in Dhungrebas, Kamalmai, Sindhuli, Bagmati Province, Nepal. It is affiliated with Tribhuvan University for bachelor-level study and with the National Examinations Board (NEB) for +2 education.
The campus is also recognized by the University Grants Commission of Nepal. With science-focused programs at higher secondary and bachelor levels, the campus serves students who want to continue science education within Sindhuli. Kamala Science Campus was established as a community-based campus. It has developed as a local institution for science education with support from Kamalamai Municipality, the University Grants Commission, the Ministry of Social Development of Bagmati Province, and local citizens of Dhungrebas and Sindhuli District. This local and institutional support reflects the campus’s community foundation and its role in widening access to science education in the district.
The campus offers Ten Plus Two (+2) Science under NEB for Classes 11 and 12. This is a two-year full-time program. Class 11 admission, enrollment, and subject registration are completed through the campus under the NEB framework, while the final board examination is held in Class 12. The program is suitable for students seeking a science foundation for later study in medicine, engineering, computer science, information technology, and other science and technology fields.
Kamala Science Campus offers the four-year Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) General program under Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Science and Technology. Admission is open to students who have completed Grade 12, Higher Secondary, or an equivalent qualification. The program follows the TU annual system.
The B.Sc. curriculum covers theoretical and practical study in botany, chemistry, environmental science, geology, mathematics, meteorology, microbiology, physics, statistics, scientific communication, and zoology. In the first and second years, students study core science subjects with compulsory papers such as scientific communication and applied statistics. In the third year, the structure includes core courses, research methodology, and elective papers. In the fourth year, the program includes major subject study, project work or field work or applied science, a computational course, and an interdisciplinary course. This structure supports academic progression in science and related fields.
For +2 Science, students apply for Class 11 after SEE according to NEB procedures and institutional requirements.
For the B.Sc. General program, TU bachelor admission generally begins after the publication of the admission notice. Eligible applicants submit the required academic documents and complete the campus admission process. Depending on the program or campus policy, admission may include an entrance process, merit-based selection, or both. Examinations and results follow TU rules and the applicable academic calendar.
