Kapan Multiple Campus

Established in 2012, the Kapan Multiple Campus (KMC) is a community-owned higher educational institution nestled in the heart of Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu. This institution emerged as a beacon of hope for local students who previously had to rely on private colleges for higher education after grade 12. The establishment of KMC was a collective effort of local residents, political leaders, academicians, and well-wishers who envisioned a community-based educational platform.

• Program Extension: Launching technical and non-technical programs and professional courses at the Bachelor’s and Masters’ level such as BCA, BBA, BSW, MBS, M.Ed., and more.
• Autonomy: Obtaining autonomy in designing curriculum, conducting examinations, and evaluating students’ performance.
• Infrastructure Development: Construction of two-story buildings, seminar halls, computer laboratories, libraries, hostels, and purchasing furniture.
• Capacity Enhancement: Supporting faculty members, preparing academic plans, maintaining student profiles, tracking student progress, and analyzing student performance.
• Teaching and Learning Methods: Arranging teacher training, engaging faculties and students in research activities, providing career counseling classes, and adopting ICT aids.
• Creating National and International Linkages: Enhancing student exposure and faculty professional development.

KMC's Development Journey

Before KMC's establishment in 2012, there was no community-based institution of higher education in Budhanilkantha municipality. The campus started its journey at Baluddwar Secondary School with less than 250 students. In 2016, it moved to a rented building at Shivadhara Chowk Kapan. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the Campus Management Committee members, political leaders, and Budhanilkantha municipality, KMC now operates from its own building at Aakasedhara, Kapan.

Today, KMC has grown into one of the largest community-based campuses of Budhanilkantha municipality, with over 500 students. Since its inception, KMC has prepared thousands of students who are now serving both within the country and abroad. Its peaceful location, quality education, spacious infrastructure, affordable cost, highly qualified faculty, and convenient location have made KMC a center of excellence in higher education. Affiliated with Tribhuwan University of Nepal, KMC continues to be a pioneering community-based campus in Nepal, committed to providing top-notch higher education.

Scholarship Schemes

At Kapan Multiple Campus (KMC), we believe in rewarding academic excellence and supporting students who may face financial challenges. Our scholarship schemes are designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students based on various criteria:

• Academic Excellence: Students who have passed +2 with 80% and above receive a 100% admission fee waiver. Those who have passed with 70% and above receive a 70% waiver, and students with 60% and above receive a 50% waiver.

• District Toppers: Students who top their district in the +2 examinations are eligible for a 100% admission fee waiver.

• College Toppers: Students who top their college in the +2 examinations receive a 50% admission fee waiver.

• Conflict-Affected Students: Students affected by conflict are eligible for a 2% admission fee waiver.

• Students from Martyrs’ Families: Students from the families of martyrs receive a 25% admission fee waiver.

• Economically Backward Students: Students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and other special categories are eligible for a 25% admission fee waiver.
