The campus is situated in a central part of Bharatpur–10, Chitwan, on the side of the East–West Highway. The location supports access for students from Chitwan and other districts, including Nawalparasi, Makawanpur, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun, Lamjung, Baglung, and Parbat. Students coming from remote areas commonly arrange accommodation in the surrounding area of Bharatpur.
Maiya Devi Girls’ College began its academic journey in 1997 (2054 B.S.) as a higher secondary school. The campus initially ran PCL classes in the morning at the premises of Chitwan Secondary School. The college later expanded to run Bachelor-level classes at its own premises and was upgraded as a TU-affiliated college in 2000 A.D. The campus was formally inaugurated in 2067 B.S. by Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.
