PCL Nursing at Western Nursing College

Eligibility Criteria

For examinations conducted after the letter grading system

Applicants must have passed SEE or an equivalent examination from a recognized educational institution with compulsory English, Mathematics, and Science and obtained a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 overall, or equivalent.

Applicants may also qualify by passing the Technical SLC related to the program conducted by the Council with 68.33 percent marks in total full marks.

For examinations conducted before the letter grading system

Applicants must have passed SLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized educational institution with compulsory Mathematics, English, and Science in at least second division, or obtained 45 percent marks in total.

Applicants may also qualify by passing SLC and passing the relevant Technical SLC conducted by the Council with 68.33 percent marks in total full marks.

The CTEVT PCL Nursing entry criteria also include passing the entrance examination administered by CTEVT, with eligible applicants selected on a merit basis.

Admission and Academic Procedures

Attendance, Examination, and Certification

The PCL Nursing curriculum requires at least 90 percent attendance in each subject to appear in the respective final examination.

Students must pass both theory and practical components for certification. The required pass marks are at least 40 percent in theory and 50 percent in practical, along with the required internal assessment and final examination pass marks for each subject.

Students who pass all components of all subjects across all three years are considered to have completed the course and are awarded the Proficiency Certificate Level in Nursing.

After completing the three-year health program, students must pass the required licensing examination of the respective professional council to become eligible for professional practice.
