Course Overview
The B.Ed. program follows the TU annual structure and is intended as both an academic and professional course in education. The course is organized to prepare students for subject-based teaching at the secondary level. Under the TU curriculum, students study one specialization major and one specialization minor.
The program includes 22 courses with a total of 2200 full marks. These are grouped into communication skills, professional core areas, specialization major courses, specialization minor courses, and teaching internship or practicum. General Nepali and General English are included in the communication component, while professional core areas include subjects such as educational psychology, curriculum and evaluation, and technology-related options in education.
Academic Structure
The four-year B.Ed. is distributed across first, second, third, and fourth year study. The annual system applies throughout the program, and final examinations are conducted by TU through the Office of the Controller of Examinations. Admission, examinations, and results follow TU rules, guidelines, and the applicable academic calendar.
Specialization areas in the TU B.Ed. curriculum include Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Population Education, Geography, Economics, History, and Political Science Education. The minor subject must be different from the major subject.
Eligibility and Admission
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed Grade 12, Higher Secondary, PCL, or an equivalent qualification for admission to the four-year B.Ed. program.
Some specialization areas under the TU curriculum also require relevant subject background or related entry conditions. Admission generally begins after the publication of the campus admission notice. Eligible applicants submit the prescribed form, academic documents, photographs, and applicable fees.
