The Diploma in Agriculture (Veterinary Science) at Sindhuli Community Technical Institute (SCTI) is a three-year technical diploma affiliated with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). The current CTEVT curriculum was revised in 2025 (2082 BS) and is organized around three academic years.
The program prepares mid-level technical human resources in animal science, agriculture, and related areas. Its academic coverage includes animal nutrition, animal health, livestock management, breeding, animal husbandry, clinical practice, extension work, animal product technology, agricultural economics, aquaculture, entrepreneurship, and workplace learning.
The progression is deliberate. The first year establishes science and animal science foundations. The second year moves deeper into animal health, breeding, husbandry, nutrition, communication, clinical work, and an animal husbandry project. The third year adds advanced animal health, economics and marketing, aquaculture, clinical practice, entrepreneurship, and internship.
Eligibility: Candidates may enter through either of these routes:
SLC, SEE, or equivalent with at least a C grade in any two subjects and a D+ grade in one subject among Mathematics, Science, and English.
Pre-Diploma in Agriculture (Plant or Animal Science) or equivalent with at least 68.33%.
Candidates must also pass the entrance examination administered by CTEVT, or meet admission provisions issued through CTEVT's Office of the Controller of Examinations.

The internship extends for six months and is designed as workplace-based learning where students apply skills developed during the academic part of the course.
Practical components are built into subjects across all three years. The curriculum addresses areas such as feed and nutrition, animal handling, livestock production, animal welfare, farm hygiene and biosecurity, animal identification, record keeping, breeding, husbandry, clinical practice, aquaculture, and enterprise-related work.
The program uses different instructor-to-learner ratios for classroom and practical settings: 1:40 for theory and 1:10 for practical classes.
Students need at least 90% attendance in each subject to become eligible for the final examination. Completion of internal assessment requirements is also mandatory before sitting for final examinations.
Theory and practical components must be passed separately:

Final practical assessment includes practical attendance, maintenance of a logbook or practical record, spot performance, and viva voce. Learners who fail a subject may sit for re-examination under CTEVT policy. All subjects across the three years must be completed within six years from the enrollment date.

The CTEVT curriculum identifies pathways in livestock and agriculture-related technical work, including commercial farms, agribusiness and agro-vet settings, animal husbandry services, and rural or agricultural development activities.
