Course Overview
BBS is a four-year annual system program under the Faculty of Management of Tribhuvan University. The program is intended to build a broad understanding of business and administration while preparing students for organized sectors of business, industry, and government. It is also designed to develop practical skills, managerial understanding, and an academic base for higher studies in management.
The course structure combines foundation areas, core business studies, specialization, and project work. This gives students exposure to business communication, economics, accounting, management, finance, marketing, taxation, and research-based academic work within a single degree framework.
Course Structure
The BBS curriculum is organized across four academic years, with 500 marks assigned to each year. The first year includes Business English, Business Statistics, Microeconomics for Business, Financial Accounting and Analysis, and Principles of Management. The second year includes Business Communication, Macroeconomics for Business, Cost and Management Accounting, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, and Fundamentals of Financial Management.
In the third year, students study Business Law, Foundation of Financial Systems, Business Environment and Strategy, Taxation in Nepal, and Fundamentals of Marketing. In the fourth year, the structure includes Entrepreneurship, three concentration courses, Business Research Methods, and a Final Project. Concentration areas include Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Management.
Eligibility, Evaluation, and Academic Environment
Applicants for admission must have successfully completed 10+2 in business, commerce, or an equivalent course from a board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University. Other entry requirements may be prescribed by the campus or Faculty Board.
Student evaluation is conducted through the annual examination system of Tribhuvan University. To appear in the annual examinations, students must maintain at least 70 percent attendance. Students are required to pass theoretical, practical, and project components separately where applicable. The final project is a required part of the fourth year and includes field-based work, report writing, and evaluation.
At Subalal Bhagwat Multiple Campus, BBS students study in a community campus environment with access to academic facilities and student support services. Scholarships are available for Dalit, Muslim, Madheshi, girls, Indigenous communities, persons with disabilities, martyrs’ families, and students from extremely weak economic backgrounds.
