CAN Releases Annual Cricket Calendar for 2026
January 3, 2026 - The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has made public its annual calendar, stating that Nepali cricket will remain active throughout 2026—from the ICC T20 World Cup to age-group and domestic cricket.
The calendar includes all programmes and competitions across men’s, women’s, and age-group cricket, covering both international tournaments and domestic events.
Statement from CAN Secretary Paras Khadka
CAN Secretary Paras Khadka said the calendar was introduced to keep cricket active year-round. He added that CAN has been working not only for the national team, but also to strengthen the domestic cricket structure.
Khadka stated that CAN will arrange financial resources from internal and external sources to manage the competitions listed in the calendar. He also noted that financial support received from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will help run the programmes, and that CAN has already submitted its annual budget to the ICC.
He further said that gate money from spectators and support from sponsors have helped strengthen Nepali cricket, and described the government’s support for building cricket infrastructure as commendable.
International Highlights Mentioned in the Calendar

January: The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup global qualifier will be held in Nepal.

February: The men’s team will play the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

A Women’s Premier Cup has also been proposed.

March: The men’s team will play a World Cup League 2 series, and a bilateral series has been set for the women’s team.
Age-Group Cricket
The calendar also includes international matches for the U-19 and U-16 teams.
Domestic Cricket Programmes
To keep domestic cricket active, the calendar includes programmes ranging from PM Cup cricket to various national tournaments, leagues, and school championships.
