Scholars’ Remarks
Prof. Jagman Gurung reviewed Nepali Kalama Kamakala. He cautioned against the notion that discussion of Kamakala is inherently obscene, calling such views a product of limited understanding. He said, “We have tried to write it truthfully and openly—without exaggeration or decorative language.”
He noted that the art helps explain profound themes, including the idea of making creation infinite, and observed that negative commentary can discourage authors from researching and publishing in this field. He praised Dr. Thapa for showing courage and energy.
Prof. Dinesh Raj Pant discussed Mallakalik Nepalka Nariharu. He emphasized that writing on historical subjects requires citing the relevant era or calendar. He stated the book addresses the social environment of women during the Malla period, along with political and economic aspects.
Prof. Veena Paudel remarked that readers will gain strong knowledge from the three substantive works. She added that, although the study of Nepali Kamakala demands time, the research presented is solid and meaningful.
Author’s Note
Dr. Thapa Pandit requested readers to study the books and provide feedback. He stated that the works were prepared through research conducted during his doctoral studies.
