Resunga Municipality Launches 4th President's Running Shield Competition to Promote Sports for Health and Nation

Resunga Municipality in Gulmi has launched the 4th President's Running Shield competition at the local level inter-school level on the occasion of National Democracy Day. The competition, which has the slogan 'Sports for health, sports for the nation, sports for all,' aims to promote sports as a means of physical and mental health for students.

The head of the District Coordination Committee, Dron Bahadur Khatri, inaugurated the competition and emphasized the importance of making the competition healthy. He encouraged participants to embrace discipline and fearlessness as they compete.

Resunga Municipality Mayor Khildhwaj Panthi also urged contestants to participate in a healthy competition and expressed the municipality's commitment to sports development. He emphasized the role of sports in teaching discipline and keeping individuals healthy, and added that the competition aims to produce players who can be proud of tomorrow.

Chief District Officer Sagar Mani Pathak and Chief Administrative Officer of Resunga Municipality Hari Prasad Aryal expressed their best wishes for the competition, hoping that it would be conducted modestly. The official program of the competition was conducted by Resunga Municipality Education Branch Chief Bishnu Prasad Gyawali.

The competition was launched with the notable participation of security agency chiefs and representatives, heads of various government offices, ward presidents of Resunga municipality, teachers, and students. Competitive games of various sports are being held at Chidichour playground.
